When God Can't Be Traced...

"If You Cannot Trace God, It is Wsdom To Trust Him" ANCHOR TEXT: “Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” John 20:29. God is a misery. His works are mysterious. His things unfold in stages and steps. It is an effort in futility trying to trace God whenever He decides to operate like a wind. There are certain things about God you cannot understand even if you decide to research into them. When God wants you only to feel Him like the wind, no amount of efforts can make you see Him. There are certain miracles God performed in the scripture that up till now, no scientist has been able to explain the mechanism behind it. For instance, no one can explain what exactly happened, or what God did that made the Red Sea to divide such that the Israelites walked on dry land. Up till now, the rationale behind the mysterious multiplication of the five loaves and two pieces of fish, that fed the hun...

Theme: Attitude of gratitude Luke 17:11-19 In your journey through this life, you will discover that God passes the blessings He brings your way through channels and those channels are men. For instance, if you have been asking God to improve your finances, He does not answer that prayer by laying stacks of currency note beside your bed while you are sleeping. What He does instead is to connect you to men who will link you to a business or an employment. He may also use men to teach you a trade or sharpen your gifts and skills. One thing you must do after God has used some persons to bless you is to return to those vessels He used and thank them. By so doing, you keep that channel open. That makes it possible for you to receive from the same channel over and over again. But if you fail to return gratitude to these channels of blessing, you slam the door shut, making it difficult, if not impossible for you to pass through that door again. We saw in our passage today that Jesus ex...

Theme: Dwelling the secret place of God Memorise: The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalm 25:14 Read: Psalm 91:1-9 1 He that dwelleth in the s ecret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the...

It Can Never Be Too Late To Say Sorry

Theme: Be the first to broker peace ANCHOR TEXT: “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift” Matthew 5:23-24. Tsar Nicholas II, the last emperor of Russia and his entire family were wrongly shot and killed by the Red Guards in 1918, nearly a year after Lenin and the Bol Sheriks seized power in the Russian revolution. Eighty years later, however, Boris Yelsin, the Russian president in 1998, led his nation in an official apology for the murder of the Tsar at a moving ceremony in the cathedral of the Peter and Paul Fortress where his Romanor ancestors were buried. Watched by millions of Russians, Yelsin stood in somber silence before the grave and said he had no option but to be present to tell the truth and apologize! When you unjustly cheat, murder, oppress anyone by the reason of your...

Theme: Why add fasting to Prayer? Matthew 17:14-21 The story we read in today’s Bible passage highlighted a crucial point in verse 17. That point is that there are some issues that cannot be solved by prayer alone. After rebuking His disciples for their unbelief, Jesus made this vital statement, “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” This drives home the point that there are issues you cannot tackle successfully unless you add fasting to prayer. The greatest hindrance to your connecting in the spirit is the flesh and those things described in Galatians 5:19-21 as the works of the flesh. Hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions and dissensions were all included as works of the flesh. During fasting, the flesh is denied its appetites and cravings thereby weakening its assertiveness. Fasting subjugates the flesh to the spirit by mortifying it. Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27, “But I keep under my body, and ...

Theme: Assurance of sonship Memorise: The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. Romans 8:16 Read: 1 John 3:7-10 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. Message It is very important to know our identity in Christ Jesus; it makes all the difference in our lives. If you don’t know your status, you will be denied many things. Your identity will help you know what you are qualified for and what you can do. When people ...
