Found Faithful

DCLM Daily Manna Devotional 4th October, 2016 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him (Daniel 6:4) In this real life story, Brother John, a devout born-again Christian, was an Office Assistant in a multinational manufacturing conglomerate, working under Mr. Tom, the Area Manager. For no justifiable reason, Mr. Tom, a flagrantly immoral person, relentlessly persecuted John, seeking to coerce him into a compromise of his faith. But John remained steadfast in his convictions, refusing to serve alcoholic beverages to his boss numerous girlfriends that visited the office. Frequent threats of dismissal from his boss failed to intimidate John. Eventually, John was found faithful by the organization, got promoted to the post of a Supervisor and transferred to a different department. Mr. Tom was later ing

Make Your Way Prosperous

Today's Word with Joel & Victoria 4th October, 2016 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8, NKJV) Make Your Way Prosperous God is a good God, and He has good things in store for you! He has given you the power and the plan to experience life, health, peace and blessing in every area of your life. When we live in obedience to His Word, when we put Him first in every area, scripture promises that our way will be prosperous, and we will experience success. Notice how the promise in today’s verse starts. It says do not let His Word depart from your mouth. When we declare His Word, it empowers us to obey His Word, and then we will see the success He promises. Today, make declaring His Word a priority. Set aside time each day to speak H

Endure Till The End

Open Heavens Daily Devotional 4th October, 2016 Memorise: And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Mark 13:13). Read: Mark 13:3-13 (KJV) 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall de

Old Things Are Passed Away

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional 4th October, 2016 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). When God looks at you, He sees that whatever might have been wrong in your life before you were born again is now passed away. You may not “feel” or think so, but that doesn’t negate His truth. Besides, that’s the reason He told you, because you couldn’t know any other way, except through the Word. So now, you’re to act on His Word. If it’s true that old things are passed away, then it means you can’t have “inherited curses” or an inherited sickness or disease. There couldn’t be such a thing as a generational curse, because you’re a brand new species—one that never existed before. What if you were born with leukaemia or a heart condition? Well, old things are passed away, and all things are now new. The eighteenth verse explains that all the new things are of God. Leukaemia isn

Honest Earning

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional 4th October, 2016 “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to people--no, we command them: Settle down and get to work. Earn your own living.” (2 Thes. 3:12) From Solomon we can learn five habits for financial freedom. The key thing about these five habits is that you have to do them all. If you do one or even four of the habits, you still will not attain financial freedom. You have to do the five to be financially free. We call them habits because a habit is something that you do easily, something that is second nature to you. Some of us have begun to do some of these things but not all of them. Some of us do not even do any of them at all, which means you need to work at it in the initial stages, then over time, it will become a habit. What I am about to teach you is how God’s Favourite House runs financially and in six years, God has done huge things with us financially. Yes, there is a place for favour but God is not pro

Setting Prisoners Free

Our Daily Bread Devotional 4th October, 2016 Read: Psalm 146 Bible in a Year: Isaiah 20-22; Ephesians 6 The Lord sets prisoners free. (Psalm 146:7) When my wife and I visited the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force near Savannah, Georgia, we were especially moved by the prisoner-of-war exhibit, with its re-creation of a German prisoner-of-war camp’s barracks. Marlene’s dad, Jim, served in the Eighth Air Force, the “Mighty Eighth,” as they flew missions over Europe during World War II. During the war, the Eighth Air Force suffered over 47,000 injuries and more than 26,000 deaths. Jim was one of those shot down and held as a prisoner of war. As we walked through the exhibit, we recalled Jim telling about the absolute joy he and his fellow prisoners felt the day they were set free. God’s care for the oppressed and liberation of the imprisoned are declared in Psalm 146. The psalmist describes the one who “upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the
