Our Daily Bread: Let Us

Our Daily Bread Daily Devotional Sunday 21st  Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  - Hebrews 10:24 While standing in line for a popular attraction at Disneyland, I noticed that most people were talking and smiling instead of complaining about the long wait. It made me ponder what made waiting in that line an enjoyable experience. The key seemed to be that very few people were there by themselves. Instead, friends, families, groups, and couples were sharing the experience, which was far different than standing in line alone. The Christian life is meant to be lived in company with others, not alone. Hebrews 10:19-25 urges us to live in community with other followers of Jesus. “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings  . . . . Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not

Gratitude With Femi Monehin

Fresh Fire Daily Devotional Sunday 21st August 2016 “So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “ Father, thank you for hearing me”  - John 11:41  [emphasis added] You need to respond appropriately to God. Yesterday we looked at three responses and today we will drill even deeper into those three responses. Ezekiel’s Response: “Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” Ezekiel 37:3 [emphasis added].  What Ezekiel was saying in essence is, how can I boast of such knowledge? Fantastic response. Mary’s Response: “Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” Lu.1:34. Fantastic response. Mary’s response showed that she was seeking knowledge and understanding. But Martha’s response was very different from the other two. Martha’s Response: “Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” “Yes,” Martha said, “he will rise when every

Hell Can't Put Out the Light With Kenneth Copeland

From Faith To Faith Daily Devotional Sunday 21st August 2016 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it…. – John 1:4-5, The Amplified Bible Whenever things around you get dark and you feel the devil is about to overpower you, remember this: You have the Light of the world in you, and try as they may, all the forces of hell can’t put it out! Even when you’re at your weakest, even when you feel like the light within you is small, the devil’s darkness is no match for you. Let me show you what I mean. Imagine for a moment that you’re in a large auditorium that has no windows or doors to let in outside light. The place is so black you can’t see anything, not even your hand in front of your face. There’s nothing around you but complete darkness! Now, imagine one little lightning bug flying around that auditorium. Every eye in there would turn toward it. As small as that little light is i

Recognize What You Have With Joel Osteen

Today's Word with Joel & Victoria Sunday 21st august 2016 Today’s Scripture: “So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.” - 1 Samuel 17:50, NIV So often we focus on what we don’t have, how big our obstacles are, and how bad the economy is. “I don’t have the connections. I’ve got this problem, but I don’t have anybody to help me. I’ve got this dream, but I don’t have the resources.” No, here is the truth: everything you need to fulfill your destiny is within reach. God will always use something that’s close to you. It may not look extraordinary, but you have what it takes to fulfill your destiny. When David faced the giant, Goliath, all he had was a slingshot and five stones. It looked ordinary. He could have thought, “I’m not going to face Goliath. That would be foolish. I don’t have a chance.” No, David knew that with God on his side, those ordinary stones would be exactly
