Overcoming Trials II - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Memorise : Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 Read : James 4:6-10 Message Submitting to the perfect will of God is a great weapon against trials and temptations. It is wisdom for us to submit to the One who is our present help in time of trouble. Jesus Christ is our closest ally in the battle of life. This is why those who do not have Him as their personal Lord and Saviour are vulnerably disposed to sorrow, frustration and death. For Us to enjoy the support and the defence of our great Ally , Jesus Christ , Apostle James wrote to say that we should submit ourselves to God , resist the devil and then he will flee from us (James 4:7). The Bible says that pride goes before a fall. Many people fall into temptation because of pride . This is why the scripture enjoys us to live soberly as we fight the good fight of faith. For I say , through the grace given unto me , to every man that is among you , not to think of himself more hig...

Covetousness Outlawed ~ Pastor William Kumuyi

Key Verse: “But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey” (Esther 9:16). Text: Esther 9:13-19 As an English clergyman knelt beside the bed of a wealthy dying man, he requested the man to take his hand as he prayed for him in that solemn hour. The firs...

Powerful: Focus - God's Favourite House

“The Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program …select seven men who are …full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility” Acts 6:2-3 Concentrate your powers! Even the apostles realized that they could not serve food, take care of the widows, and visit the prisons. So they chose to focus on the ministry of the Word and to prayer. What is that one thing? Concentration simply means the power of focusing all one’s attention. When you focus, inevitably you create blindness and that is okay. But a lot of people do not want any blindness. However, the truth remains that you cannot be effective if you are not blind to certain things. You need to focus and when you focus on one thing, you are blind to another thing. You need to be comfortable with that; you cannot be everything to everyone. Focus! Concentration is a habit that can be developed. Growing up, my favo...
