Life is not about you alone

ANCHOR TEXT: “They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory” Mark 10:37. An ambition that does not take others into consideration is selfish. A selfish ambition is a product of the flesh. It is out to gain fame, respect, renown, or importance so that it can exercise power over others. This type of ambition violates the principles of respect for the value and worth of all people. The danger of misguided, and unchecked ambition manifested itself in a classic case over two thousand years ago during an exchange between Jesus and two of His disciples recorded in Mark 10:35-37. Brothers James and John requested of Jesus: ‘let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory’. They coveted a position of leadership and power for themselves rather than for the purpose of serving others. Why this request? Why at this time? Are they the only disciples? What about others? Why couldn’t they allow Jesus to handle that? QUOTE OF ...

When you need a miracle

Memorise: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalms 50:15 Read: 1 Samuel 1:9-13, 9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of theLord. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto theLord, and wept sore. 11 And she vowed a vow, and said, OLordof hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto theLordall the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. 12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before theLord, that Eli marked her mouth. 13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. Dare To Move

“Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”  1 Sam.30:8 God is taking us on a journey. I believe that for some of us reading today’s devotional [I pray for all of us], God is moving you from relegation to promotion. God’s Word for you is victory and to secure victory, we need to deploy proven principles of war. In deploying these principles of war, victory is assured. The Principle of the Offensive is: advance and attack the opposition, grab and exploit the opportunities. After you have set a clear objective, the next thing is to advance. Begin to move forward, begin to attack, begin to grab, begin to seize, and begin to exploit opportunities. Sadly, a lot of us are passive. We are just sitting and waiting for a miracle. Waiting for heaven to do stuff. But God is saying, you advance, you attack, you seize and grab the oppor...
