Receive Grace

Today's Word with Joel & Victoria 12th October, 2016 “It is through Him that we have received grace (God’s unmerited favor) and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the nations.”  (Romans 1:5, AMPC) When you receive God’s grace in your life, you are receiving His favor. Not only is grace God’s favor, but it’s also His supernatural empowerment. God’s grace enables you to accomplish more and be more effective both in your own life and in building the kingdom of God. With grace and favor, you can make a difference in the lives of the people around you. You can “promote faith” by living a life of love. Remember, God wants to empower you with His grace so that you can show love and encourage the people in your life—your coworkers, your family, your friends. How do you receive grace? By simply opening your heart and thanking Him for it. Thank Him for giving you His grace that empowers you. Then, begin to sow

Giving At Its Best

DCLM  Daily Manna 12th October, 2016 Text: 2 Corinthians 9:8-15 Key Verse: “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness”  (2 Corinthians 9:10). Among many stories told about the Great Chicago fire of 1871 , the one involving Evangelist D.L. Moody remains etched in most people’s memory. The respected cleric proceeded to New York to raise financial help for the victims of the inferno. Homes, factories and industries were destroyed, with value of lost property running into tens of millions of dollars. Moody was led to a rich and generous man in the economic and commercial capital of the United States. The affluent man did not disappoint him and gave Moody a cheque for a large amount in response to the massive need in Chicago. The benefactor did more: he directed Moody to several other wealthier men who also gave heavy contributions. The evangelist was impressed and as

Maintaining Focus In Prayer

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional 12th October, 2016 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful  (1 Corinthians 14:14). One vital element of effective prayer is focusing your mind on what you’re praying about. Imagine that someone is praying for the salvation of souls in a particular region of the world. He’s interceding that, through the preaching and teaching of the Word, God’s righteousness would prevail in the towns, hinterlands, and cities without hindrance. While at it, his mind wanders away, and he’s thinking about some nice cars, houses or a meeting he’s scheduled with a friend. His prayer would hardly be effective that way, and this happens to a lot of people. Focusing your mind, emotions and entire faculties on what you’re praying about is very important, and praying in the Spirit is a great advantage in this regard. When you pray in the Spirit, your spirit prays; your mind is unfruitful (1 Corinthians 14:14).

The Believer's Authority II

Open Heavens Daily Devotional 12th October, 2016 Memorise: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19) Read: Luke 10:17-20 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. As it was pointed out yesterday, the power and the authority which Jesus Christ has made available to believers can not be imagined by natural minds. Some people subject themselves to long life bondage because they are looking for power and protection outside J

Seed Principle

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional 12th October, 2016 “Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow.” Proverbs 13:11 [NCV, emphasis added]. click here to listen to the audio devotional: If you do not have savings, you cannot invest and you will  not be able to take opportunities when they come. If you do not have a savings even God cannot use you financially because you do not have leverage. God cannot demand a seed from you because you have eaten everything. God asked the children of Israel to give part of the gold they had collected from Egypt to build the temple. The people that had given theirs to the building of the golden calf had nothing to give. Moses had melted that calf, mixed the gold in water and forced them to drink it. At the end of the day, when God called for a seed, some of them obviously would not have. Some people have no seed to give because they have eaten their seed. There is an investment

Put Aside

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional 11th October, 2016 “The wise man saves for the future…” Proverbs 21:20 [LB] click here to listen to the audio devotional:  The third habit for financial freedom is Save For The Future. It is called the Principle of Investment. I am using the word ‘save’ loosely here. I know financial gurus say you cannot save money because the inflation rate is higher than the interest rate. I understand that but you must at least accumulate some money before you can invest it. I know of people that actually buy land with their money without going to the bank. And they are able to achieve this because they have done constant saving over a period. They buy the land cash, sell it and make about a hundred or two hundred percent profit. Savings is very powerful. Even the good old saving is very powerful, if the objective is saving to invest. Because no matter how much money you make, your expenses will always rise above your income if you allow it. But

Reactive And Proactive

God' Favourite House Daily Devotional 10th October, 2016 “...Stupid people spend their money as fast as they get it” Proverbs 21:20 [GN] click here to listen to the audio devotional:   God is saying, stop spending your money as quickly as you earn it; then you are wise. I know this is hard to take in, yet the truth is, if what will pull you out to financial freedom were easy, you would have already done it. When I first read this Scripture, it made me uncomfortable. But I had to let this truth work out greatness in me. I had to deliver myself from impulsive buying. You do not encounter the truth and brush it aside. You have to let it do its work in your life. So I see something and I feel that urgency to buy it. I say to myself, wait! Some of those things I end up buying but I end up not buying most of them. The first thing I do is to wait! Waiting stops that adrenaline rush that makes you take a decision without thinking. The second thing I do is I say to myself, what

Tune In to the Spirit of Grace

From Faith To Faith Daily Devotional 13th October, 2016 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. (Titus 2:11-12) Grace teaches us! The "Spirit of grace" instructs us from the inside. Let the Holy Spirit of God counsel you and teach you how to live in this present world. If you listen to the voice of the world, you will be worldly minded, or carnally minded, which is death. But, if you tune in to the voice of the Spirit of grace, you can become spiritually minded. And, according to the Word, that is life and peace. So, when the Spirit of God speaks to you through that still, small voice inside your heart, listen and obey Him. His way works! Trust Him and remember that He's got your well-being in mind. Maybe He's asking you to eliminate some activity that's consuming too much of your time and att

Warning!

Our Daily Bread Devotional 12th October, 2016 Read: 1 Samuel 25:1-12 Bible in a Year: Isaiah 39-40; Colossians 4 His name means Fool, and folly goes with him! (1 Samuel 25:25) The following warnings have been found on consumer products: “Remove child before folding.” (baby stroller) “Does not supply oxygen.” (dust mask) “Never operate your speakerphone while driving.” (hands-free cell phone product called the “Drive ’n’ Talk”) “This product moves when used.” (scooter) An appropriate warning label that Nabal could have worn would have been: “Expect folly from a fool” (see 1 Sam. 25). He certainly was irrational as he addressed David. On the run from Saul, David had provided security detail for the sheep of a wealthy man named Nabal. When David learned that Nabal was shearing those sheep and celebrating with a feast, he sent ten of his men to politely ask for food as remuneration for these duties (vv. 4-8). Nabal’s response to David’s request was beyond rude. He
