Need a Change?

Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 2nd October, 2016 “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways.” (Job 22:28, NASB) We all have areas in our lives where we desire to see change; areas we know we need to come up higher or addictions and strongholds we need to break. The good news is that God has given us the power to change! Scripture says that we overcome by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. What are you saying about your circumstances? When you make your words line up with God’s Word, then what you declare will be established. So often, we complicate life more than we need to. Our minds get busy trying to “figure” everything out. People can spend more time analyzing their situation instead of applying God’s Word to their situation. But today, you can change your life by taking five minutes to declare His Word. Don’t live in mediocrity any longer. Let God’s Word shine on your ways and direct your path towa

Predetermined

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional 2nd October, 2016 “For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you the victory!” Deut.20:4 [TLB] Years ago, a friend of mine came into the country and as he settled into his apartment, he noticed there was a football match on television. Communication back then was not as it is now. It was a match  between Nigeria and Brazil. And Brazil scored the first two goals and he started shouting at the players. In the second half, Nigeria scored their first goal and by the time Nigeria scored the second goal, he started shouting again. But he noticed that the whole neighborhood was not echoing it and he wondered why. Nigeria equalized, he jumped up, he carried his chair and shook it, and ran around the room. Then Nigeria scored the winning goal and my friend went berserk, ran to his neighbor’s flat, knocked on their door and asked if they were not watching the match. What match?, they

God’s Reminders

Our Daily Bread Devotional Read: Mark 8:11-21 Bible in a Year: Isaiah 14-16; Ephesians 5:1-16 He said to them, “Do you still not understand?” (Mark 8:21). My friend Bob Horner refers to Jesus as “the Master Reminder.” And that is good, because we are so doubting and forgetful. No matter how often Jesus met the needs of the people who came to Him when He was here on earth, His first disciples feared they would somehow be left in need. After witnessing miracles, they failed to understand the greater meaning the Lord wanted them to remember. On a journey across the Sea of Galilee, the disciples realized they had forgotten to bring bread and were talking about it. Jesus asked them, “Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?” (Mark 8:17-18). Then He reminded them that when He fed five thousand people with five loaves, the disciples had collected twelve basketfuls of lef

Run to God

From Faith To Faith Daily Devotional  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). It's wonderful to know you've been set free from the law of sin and death. It's glorious to know you never again have to submit to the slavery of sin. But what do you do when, in spite of those wonderful, glorious truths, you still miss the mark? What do you do when you stumble and fall into sin? Run to your Father and repent! That sounds simple. But oddly enough we often do just the opposite. Instead of running to God, we let fear and guilt drive us further and further from Him. We start thinking things like, Well, I've missed it now. I might as well forget the rest of it and live like the devil. Don't make that mistake. Don't let Satan talk you into sinning in one area of your life just because you missed it in another. When you get off track with God, just confess it and get r

Be bold To Use His Name

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional 2nd October, 2016 Where God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name (Philippians 2:9). It doesn’t matter what the condition is or the challenge that you might be facing; if you’d use the name of Jesus, victory is assured. The Name of Jesus is superior to all other names. Sickness is a name; Death is a name; Poverty is a name; Depression is a name, but the Name of Jesus is greater than them all. Use that name! Colossians 3:17 tells us to do all things in the word or deed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Name opens every closed door, and it’s been given to you to live by. You’ve been given the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus. We all can, and should, use the Name of Jesus. You need not to fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day, because we live in His Name. Fear may attack you and try to hold you in bondage, but refuse to concede; use the Name of Jesus
