Divine Direction By Poju Oyemade

For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man  - Job 33-14-16 When God speaks to you the second time about an issue it is to warn you and give you information about what Satan is up to.The above scripture came about as a result of the fact that Job did not perceive or pick up what God was communicating to him. The same movement occurred with Haman against the children of Israel. Esther who was in a position to bring deliverance did not pick up the danger signal. When the bible talks about perception it means a spiritual signal and there is no indication so to speak on the outside for the unseen and the unlearned i.e. a man without spiritual understanding. Nothing on the outside will show that individual that something negative is about...

Do It His Way - William Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 Key Verse: Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness"  - Ecclesiastes 10:17 An very busy lady disciple waited for D. L Moody after he had told a group of church workers some very plain truths from God's word. "Mr.Moody", said the angry woman, "do you mean to tell me, that I, an educated woman, taught from childhood good ways and all my life interested in the church and doing good, must enter heaven the same way as the worst criminals of our day?" "No, woman", said Mr. Moody, "I don't tell you of all God does. He says everyone who would enter heaven, no matter how good they think they are, or how well educated or zealous in good works, must be born again". God did not allow the children of Israel or their elders to use their discretion or ingenuity to decide how the ceremony of the Passover...

Contend With I

2 Cor.10:5 [ERV] “and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ” We have established that there are voices in the atmosphere around us and all that we need is the right gadget to tune-in to those voices. Note that the fact that your gadget can receive does not mean you will be tuned-in automatically. You will still need to tune it right? Again while you are tuning, you will notice that some channels came easily. But some other channels need to be fine-tuned for clarity. Spiritually, the channel that needs a lot of fine-tuning is the expressions of the Holy Spirit. To get clarity in the expressions of the Holy Spirit, we need to understand that when it comes to prayer, to fine tuning, and to hearing God accurately, there are two things we need to contend with. The first is our Commitment and the second is our Conscience. With commitment for instance, you would discover that it i...

Discipline And Discipleship By John Hagee

John Hagee Ministries Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. - 2 Timothy 2:3 You Can Only Reach Excellence Through Duty, Discipline And Discipleship  Excellence is not determined by sex, age, race, or occupation.  Don’t make excuses or plead your limitations.  Everybody is handicapped in some ways.  You can use your handicap as an excuse to scratch in the dirt with prairie chickens, or you can use it as a motivation to fly into the heavens and be all you can be. Moses was handicapped.  He said to God, “I can’t lead these people, I’m slow of speech.”  Joseph was handicapped.  He was a foreigner, an excon fresh out of jail, yet God made him one of the most powerful men in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh.  Paul was handicapped.  He spoke of a thorn in his side.  Paul wrote most of the New Testament—and most of it was written while he was in jail. Another rea...

What Do You See? By Joseph Prince

Daily Grace Inspirations Friday 12th August 2016 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. - Mark 11:24 A blind lady was led to a great healing evangelist for prayer. After he had prayed for her, he asked her, “Now, tell me what you see.” She opened her eyes only to be told, “Close your eyes. Tell me what you see.” She opened her eyes again only to be told, “I didn’t say to open your eyes. I asked you what you saw. Close your eyes! Now, tell me what you see.” This went on for a while, until the lady realized that the evangelist was asking her what she saw on the inside. Did she see herself seeing? When she understood that, she said, “I see myself with sight.” Then, the evangelist told her, “Now, slowly open your eyes.” That moment, she opened her eyes to perfect vision! When you prayed just now, what did you see inside you? Were you praying for someone’s healing, but seeing that person in a coffin?...

Developing Patience By Charles Stanley

In Touch Ministries Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 On any given day, we may encounter frustrating people and situations. We may feel like lashing out, but God wants us to stay calm and be patient with everyone (1 Thess. 5:14). And in fact, there are a number of reasons we should develop patience: Read: Colossians 3:12-14 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.  14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. Our Calling. Though once alienated from the Lord, we have been made part of His family through Jesus’ shed blood. As God’s children, we’re called to live a life worthy of Him—one that is characterized by humility, gentleness, and patience (Eph. 4:1-3). Biblical Teaching. Scripture ...

Meekness Does Not Equal Weakness By Rick Warren

Daily Hope Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth”  - Matthew 5:5 NIV If you want to make healthy choices to be well and whole again, you have to learn to be meek. Matthew 5:5 says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (NIV). The Bible lists many benefits of meekness: The meek will be satisfied (Psalm 22:26); God will guide them (Psalm 25:9); they will become wise (Proverbs 11:2); they will be filled with fresh joy (Isaiah 29:19). There are many, many others. The problem is, we misunderstand this term. None of us really know what meekness is. In fact we often confuse it with another term that sounds like it — “meek” sounds like “weak.” Nobody wants to be weak, so nobody wants to be meek. But the truth is meekness and weakness are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. Meekness is in no way weakness. In fact, the Greek word for meekness literally means “strength under control.” To be meek is not to be...

He Brings Justice By Joel Osteen

Today's Word with Joel & Victoria Friday 12th August 2016 “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?...” - Luke 18:7 NIV Have you been crying out to the Lord for something? Maybe there’s a situation in your life that’s been overwhelming, and you feel like you’ve done everything you know to do but can’t see a way through. Be encouraged today because we serve a God of justice! He is faithful to His Word, and He will always be faithful to you. Not only is He a God of justice, He is your vindicator. One thing we have to remember is that our battle is not with the person who may have wronged us. Scripture says that the enemy of our souls, the accuser of the brethren, is our ultimate enemy. Know today that God already has a plan; He already knows the future, and He will bring about justice! Before eternity is through, He will right the wrongs that have been done to you. Your part is to release the situation into His capa...

God Will Turn Your Life Around By Jerry Savelle

Jerry Savelle Ministries Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them  - Deuteronomy 28:13 NKJV Many people suffer from feelings of rejection. All their lives they’ve been told things that have kept them down and held them back. Perhaps you are one of these people. Maybe you were told you’d never amount to anything. You may have been born into poverty and told you would always be poor. Or you may have been ridiculed and told that no one would ever love you. Although circumstances may make these statements appear to be factual, they are not the truth. If you go to the Bible, you’ll find out that God’s plans for you are always good. In fact, if you will put God at the center of your life, He will turn things around for you. If you allow it, God will take you from being b...

A Supernatural Cycle of Blessing By Kenneth Copeland

From Faith Ton Faith Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. - Ecclesiastes 11:1 One of the most exciting things I ever discovered about God’s law of sowing and reaping was the fact that financial harvests are not seasonal. If you plant year round, you can be receiving year round. Don’t misunderstand. I’m not saying your harvest will come instantly. It usually won’t. You may have to wait for it for several months. What I’m saying is, if you’ll keep planting consistently, you’ll receive just as consistently. If you’ll continually cast your bread on the water, eventually it will come in on every wave! Of course, some people never get to enjoy that kind of constant blessing. That’s because, instead of giving, they keep waiting to receive. They stand on the beach saying, “I wonder where my prosperity is? As soon as it comes in, I’ll start giving.” God’s economy doesn’t work that way. He said, “Give and i...

Persistent Faith By Femi Monehin

Fresh Fire Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 “I tell you, He will defend and protest and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?”  - Luke 18:8 AMP Even if you die believing, die believing. Believe God! “Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” Luke 18:6-8. The problem with us is that we give up so easily in our hearts. Believe me it is a problem. Jesus says, “But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of man find on earth when he returns?” Luke 18:8 [MSG]. I was speaking to my mother in time past and she said something that was very profound. She said, “if it...

The Christian Race By E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens Daily Devotional Friday 12th August 2016 Memorise: And if a man also strive for masteries, Yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.  - 2 Timothy 2:5 Read: Philippians 3:13-17  13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,  forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those  things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing  ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,  let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Message: Apostle Paul admonished us in his epistle to forget those things that are behind us as we journey through the p...

Our Daily Bread: Shaping Your Thoughts

Our Daily Bread Friday 12th August 2016 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  - Romans 12:2 When Marshall McLuhan coined the phrase “the medium is the message” in 1964, personal computers were unknown, mobile phones were science fiction, and the Internet didn’t exist. Today we understand what great foresight he had in predicting how our thinking is influenced in this digital age. In Nicholas Carr’s book The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains, he writes, “[The media] supply the stuff of thought, but they also shape the process of thought. And what the Net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation. Whether I’m online or not, my mind now expects to take in information the way the Net distributes it: in a swiftly moving stream of particles.” I like J. B. Phillips’s paraphrase of Paul’s message to the Christians in Rome: “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you i...
