Your Days are Written

Today's Word with Joel & Victoria 13th October 2016 “...all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:16, NIV) Did you know that God has already written out the story of your life? He’s written out plans for your good, plans to prosper you, plans for peace. That doesn’t mean that you won’t go through negative situations. It means that God will use everything you go through to move you forward toward that good plan. When things happen that we don’t understand, it’s easy to think, “Why did this happen? Why did this friend betray me? Why did this company lay me off? Why didn’t I get that promotion?” You can’t let the things you don’t understand keep you stuck on the same page in the story of your life. You have to decide to turn the page so that you can see the victory waiting for you in the next chapter. If you are facing a difficulty today, know that God’s plan is to turn it around and use it for your good. The

Prompt Execution

DCLM Daily Manna 13th October 2016 Text: Ezekiel 11:1-13 Key Verse: “And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” (Ezekiel 11:13). Ecclesiastes 8:11 says: “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil”. The leaders of Israel during Prophet Ezekiel’s ministry were stunned that fulfilment of prophecy could sometimes be executed speedily depending on God’s unimpeachable wisdom. Ezekiel, led by the Spirit of God, had prophesied that Jerusalem’s rebellion and idolatry would be punished with a captivity at the hands of the Babylonians. But twenty-five princes of Judah in Jerusalem, deceived by Jaazaniah and Paletiah, told the people that Jerusalem was too fortified to fall. They contemned the prophecies of Ezekiel and J

Turn The Searchlight On Yourself

Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional 13th October 2016  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you…? (2 Corinthians 13:5). Everyone is the expression of what he or she believes. Your daily life is the loudest voice that gives expression to your belief. As a Christian, therefore, it’s easy for you to review what you truly believe, and determine whether or not you’re living the authentic Christian life by examining yourself and your actions. Turn the searchlight on yourself. Ask yourself, “What kind of life am I living?” “What have I been like?” “Am I expressing the love of Christ in truth?” “Has the Word affected my communication, to manifest the Kingdom of God in humility and in righteousness?” You need to ponder on such thoughts from time to time as you evaluate your life with the sole purpose of building and maintaining an excellent character. Be sure that you’ve been putting the W

Cause & Effect

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional 13th October 2016 “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine” Proverbs 3:9-10 [NIV]. click here to listen to the audio devotional: John D Rockefeller , in his biography stated that, one of the secrets of his wealth is his “ten-ten-eighty” rule. And he explained the rule to be, he tithes the first ten percent of all his income. He pays himself with the second ten percent, then budgets the last eighty percent. Someone asked me to explain why the tithe is ten percent. And I said, I do not know why it is ten percent but I know that nine percent or five percent is not tithe. God said ten percent, but guess what? God could have said twenty percent, or fifty percent, or even ninety percent. If God said the tithe is ninety percent what would you do? Would you argue with him? Not me. I said to him, but God has said tithe

Divine Partnership

Open Heavens Daily Devotional 13th October, 2016 Memorise: Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. (Psalms 41:1) Read: Psalms 41:1-3, (KJV) 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. When is the link between divine partnership and consideration of the poor? As we may know, divine partnership has to do with partnering with the Almighty God. What is the connection between being in the same business with God and our attitude towards the poor? In our Bible reading for today, we discover that when we remember and help the poor, the Lord will deliver us from trouble. The reason is that the Almighty God watches over the poor and listen

All Welcome!

Our Daily Bread Devotional 13th October 2016 Read: Luke 5:27-32 Bible in a Year: Isaiah 41-42; 1 Thessalonians 1 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  (Luke 5:32) The much-prayed-for film night at the church youth club had finally arrived. Posters had been displayed all around the village and pizzas were warming in the oven. Steve, the youth pastor, hoped that the film—about gang members in New York who were brought face-to-face with the claims of Jesus by a young pastor—would bring new recruits to the club. But he hadn’t realized that a key football match was being shown on television that evening, so attendance was much smaller than he had hoped for. Sighing inwardly, he was about to dim the lights and begin the film when five leather-clad members of the local motorbike club came in. Steve went pale. The leader of the group, who was known as TDog, nodded in Steve’s direction. “It’s free and for everyone, right?” he said. Steve opened his m
