OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE : FRIDAY 5 FEBRUARY 2016

THEME : REVIVAL BY THE WORD OF GOD 1 Memorise : For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 NEHEMIAH 8:1-10 1 AND all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. 2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. 3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law. 4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood

THEME: SPEAK TO THE DRY BONES Ezekiel 37:1-13 A practical example of how to achieve the seemingly impossible through prayer was given in our reading today. The narration opened with a clear indication that the event took place while the person involved was in the spirit. “The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.” (Ezek. 37:1). You don’t start prophesying until you have entered into the very presence of God through tenacious worship and prayer. If you attempt to prophesy outside the presence of God, the words you will be speaking will be mere letters and the bible says that the letter killeth. “Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life” (2 Corinthians 3:6). The valley was full of dry bones, yet the question was put to the key figure, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
