And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.(Luke 9vs51:53). In the above scripture, we see Jesus setting His face to go to Jerusalem because the time had come for Him to do so. He sent messengers ahead of Him, who went to Samaritan instead of Jerusalem. These messengers expected that everywhere they entered into even if Jesus did not send them there will be results. This is because they felt since they had come in the name of Jesus – even if they disobeyed the very authority in which they came – they still believed they will get results which they did not get eventually. In the same way, if you run a business you need to understand that as the owner of the business your face must be set in a partic...

Managing Your Crisis - Pastor Femi Emmanuel

Monthly Turning Point {24th June, 2016} ANCHOR TEXT: “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it” Isaiah 30:15. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “CRISIS WELL MANAGED IS CRISIS TURNED AROUND” In life, crisis develop from time to time, whether the one you cause or the one you know nothing about. So everyone has got to manage one crisis or the other at one time or the other. Interestingly, only a crisis well managed can be turned around. One of the proven methods of crisis management is silence. God is your present help in the time of crisis, He is your strength in the inevitable battles of life. So, crisis time is not time to run around, it is time to be still and know that He is God. At the peak of provocation, the best response is silence. At such moments, you cannot be quoted wrongly. It is when you are silent that you will be able to reason out the approp...

Sin Is Deadly - Pastor William Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna {24th June, 2016} Key Verse: “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that has a familiar spirit, to inquire of it” {1 Chronicles 10:13}. Text: 1 Chronicles 10:1-14 Many times when people dabble into sinful practices or revel in indulgent lifestyle, it is because they believe they can get away with it, and that there were no consequences for their actions. Saul found this out the hard way, and when it was too late. Even as the end of his reign as king approached, Saul continued to disobey and rebel against God. He ignored God’s instructions to wipe out the enemies of Israel. He failed to ask Him for guidance and direction on how to run the kingdom of Israel. Just when his cup of iniquity was full, he turned to seek counsel from God, but God refused to answer him. Actually, he became frantic and turned to God for direction only after he had exhau...

Contented - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens Daily Devotional {24th June, 2016} Memorise: And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 1 Timothy 6:8 Read : Ecclesiastes 5:10-12 Message: Lack of contentment is a sin because it is a sign of ingratitude to the Almighty God. There are many people who focus so much on what God is doing in the lives of other people and ignore what God is doing in their own lives. If you don't want your life to end abruptly, do not give room for greed. Do not envy others. Envy is a sin. Contentment means a life that is satisfied with the faithfulness of God. It is to be delighted with what God is doing in your own life, even as you appreciate what He is doing in the life of others. A contented person is someone who is thrilled and captivated with the Grace of God upon his life. When God is on your side, it doesn't matter what your present level may be, you can be rest assured that your tommorow will be mush better. You need to remember that it is only the blessings...

Don't Tell It Like It Is - kenneth copeland Ministries,

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. – Proverbs 18:21 Words are serious business. And, as believers, we need to get serious about learning how to use them. We need to begin to put them to work for us like God Himself does. The Bible tells us that He uses words to “call those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Most of us don’t have the faintest idea how to do that. We’ve spent our lives “telling it like it is.” We’ve constantly used our mouths to report on the sorry state of affairs around us. Thus, the very thought of calling “things which be not as though they were” seems a little crazy. “You mean I’m supposed to say, ‘I’m healed’ when I’m feeling sick? I’m supposed to say, ‘I’m prosperous’ when I’m penniless? That sounds like lying to me.” No, no. There’s a vast difference between lying and speaking by faith. A lie is meant to deceive someone. It’s designed to make someone believe something...

Count The Cost! - God's Favourite House

“Or what king would go to war against another king without first sitting down with his counselors to discuss whether his army of 10,000 could defeat the 20,000 soldiers marching against him?” {Luke 14:31}. Interestingly, one of the key reasons why you should commit your life to Christ is because the outcome has been predetermined. In fact, it is a very dangerous thing to live without Jesus. In Christ, the outcomes have been predetermined. So we can take on the challenges being confident that the outcome has been predetermined. In our everyday lives we will be confronted with battles, confronted with choices to go to war or not to go to war. In your relationship you will be confronted with the option to battle or not to battle. The Principle of Economy is telling you and I do not fight every battle. Check first. Count the cost. In 279 B.C., there was a battle called the battle of Asculum, between the Greeks and the Romans. The Greek king, Pyros, was very adamant to take on the R...
