Misreading Others - Pastor William Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna Sunday 17th July 2016 Key Verse: "Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?" - Job 4:17 Text:  JOB 4:12-21 It is a common thing for people to misread the actions or experiences of others. Oftentimes, this happens when we have developed a fixed idea of a person or people. At other times, we may be so blindfolded by our personal experiences or background that we cannot accommodate other perspectives in life. But one of the most painful experiences is to be misjudged by another person, more so when it involves a person you trust and whose opinions you respect. Imagine how Job must have felt when his trusted friends who visited him during his travail completely misunderstood him and charged him with sin. At such a time, Job needed loving and comforting company to keep his spirit up. On the contrary, his friends that responded took turn to lecture him on how such experience could not happen to a person unless he

Think Clearly - Pastor Femi Monehin

God's Favourite House Daily Devotional Sunday 17th July 2016 “So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing” - 1 Corinthians 9:26 Human beings are very impulsive. The average person acts impulsively. They just go with the wind and the whim of their emotions. But you do not have to be average. God wants you to act strategically. God wants you to act based on clear thoughts and not based on what is thrown at you. When you find yourself in situations where things are being thrown at you, God wants you to think and think clearly. When the farmer’s dog is restless and the farmer wants to wear his dog out, he simply takes the dog to a large field with rabbits. The dog spots the first rabbit and chases it. But while it is chasing that rabbit, it spots another rabbit. So it stops chasing the first one and starts chasing another one. This happens repeatedly and at the end of the day the dog is exhausted but it has not caught a single rabbit even though it has chased many.

Separated Unto The Lord - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens daily Devotional Sunday 17th July 2016 Memorise: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:48 Read: Genesis 17:1-7 Message God Almighty does not hide His feelings about how we must relate with Him; He wants us to be totally His. The Bible says: "Thou shall have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20:3). There should be nothing standing between us and our God neither should there be anything taking His place in our lives. The only way we can convince Him of the fact that we are totally His is when we are completely separated unto Him; when nothing/no one else can lay claim on our lives. In our Bible reading for today, God asked Abraham to walk before Him and be perfect. In other words, God was telling His friend, Abraham that He needed more of his devotion, commitment and consecration. This is what God demands from all men, particularly His children. To be separated unto the Lord is to be separated from this world o

Review Your Commitment - Pastor Femi Emmanuel

ANCHOR TEXT: “Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” - John 6:68 It is difficult to have result in whatever one is not committed to. The word commitment is used to describe what one does regardless of how one feels or does not feel. When you are committed to something, what people think about you will not bother you any longer. Stephen Gregg, chairman of Ethis Corporation, sums it up this way, ‘commitment can be displayed in a full range of matters to include the work hours you choose to maintain, how you work to improve your abilities, or what you do for God; what you do for your fellow workers at personal sacrifice. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “HE WHO IS NOT COMMITTED TO ANYTHING CAN NEVER BE EFFECTIVE IN ANYTHING” Since this year began, what have you been committed to? Are you truly committed to anything in the real sense of it? Are you committed to your job? Are you committed to the things that God instructed you to do? Are you commi
