No Eminence In Idleness

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings; he will not serve before obscure men” Proverbs 22:29. The word diligence used in the above-quoted scripture refers to persistence, hard work; industriousness; earnestness, seriousness, doggedness, indefatigability and effort. Diligence is a serious-minded approach to life. It is a necessity in every realm of life. It is the doorway to excellence and prominence. Efforts are the secret of effects. Thus, the quality of your effort determines the intensity of effects. There is no eminence in laziness. Your input determines your impact. Nothing becomes glorious until you are serious. Prayers are good, but all prayers must be backed up by relevant and godly efforts before there can be results. We fail to realize that sometimes, the God we are waiting for is also waiting for us to do something. Where nothing is done, waiting becomes endless. Moses and the children of Israel were crying, praying and waiting for God’s sudd...

Minister God's Love

Luke 19:8 "And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold." LUKE 19:1-8 Zacchaeus was rich but Jesus made no demands for him to give away all his goods to the poor as He did with the rich young ruler. Zacchaeus had already repented and money was no longer his god, as was revealed by his actions. It seems that Zacchaeus was going above and beyond the requirement of restitution as stated in Mosaic law by offering to give half of his goods to the poor and to repay fourfold for his theft. Publicans were hated by their fellow Jews. They were especially despised by the religious Jews as the epitome of sinners and Jewish religious laws prevented devout Jews from keeping company with any publican. To eat with a publican was unthinkable as the Jews considered this actually partaking of the publican's sins. This is why the people reacte...

Humble Yourself

Humble Yourself Under the mighty hand of God for in due season, he will lift you up’ (1st Peter 5: 6) I will like to establish that God in His Faithfulness is at work in your life now in practical terms, so we want to unveil what He is doing there and where He is. God is ever present in your life. In fact He is always present when you are most probably frustrated and angry and He is doing something. If you have some unresolved offence in your heart, there is probably the stirring of God in that area. The bible says we are to humble ourselves. He does not lift you up first, you have to humble yourself, God then exalts you. Some people may take offence in that ‘how can God come into my life and I will go down?’ but this is so because there is something He is doing in our life. If you go through the process, you will be most thankful for the process than in the manifestation itself because you will see that had it not been for the process, the manifestation of the blessing may just d...

How to Sense and Response to Change

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.”(Matt 26:31). Before Jesus Christ went to the cross, He told His disciples that they will all be offended in Him. He said this because He knew and understood what lay ahead of Him. Christians must understand that this was not a statement of unbelief. It was a statement of genuine faith integrated into the facts of life. As we see, Peter was in a state of ‘normalcy bias’. His response to Jesus kicked against any alteration or change within the environment. The thought of Jesus leaving them meant things will change. Things will change socially, politically, financially and in every other area of life. Their comfort zone was about to be rocked. They were about to confront a severe change and they were not prepared for it. So, it seemed temporarily safe to move into a mode of denial than to accept what they we...

Open Heavens: Weapons For God's Servants

Memorise: And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 1 Samuel 3:19 Read: 1 Samuel 3:19-21 19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. 21 And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD. Message There are some principles of God that can be used as weapons by everyone, regardless of their faith. Divine principles relating to the natural world are given to all to harness the power inherent in them. For example, the principle of sowing and reaping falls into this category. However, there are some weapons of God that are exclusively for those who have believed in Jesus Christ. In this subset, there are some weapons designed for the use of God's servants; one of which is prophecy. The Bible in Amo...

Please God Not People

Mark 10:48 "And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me." MARK 10:43-48 The devil will always have someone available to tell us why we shouldn't expect to get results when petitioning God. Most people would rather stay with the crowd and not do anything to draw attention to themselves even if that means not getting their needs met. They will try to make you conform as well. If this man would have listened to the crowd, he would not have received his healing. "Ye have not, because ye ask not" (Jas. 4:2). This blind man is a good example of an active kind of faith. He was not passive in his approach toward healing. He boldly cried out to Jesus for mercy. When the crowd ridiculed him and told him to be quiet, he cried out even louder for mercy. Many people believe that God can perform the miracle they need but relatively few are willing to actively pursue it until they get res...
