Your Life Is Shaped By Your Thoughts With Rick Warren

Daily Hope Devotional Tuesday 16th August 2016 “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts”  - Proverbs 4:23 TEV. God is far more interested in changing your mind than changing your circumstances. We want God to take away all of the problems, pain, sorrow, suffering, sickness, and sadness. But God wants to work on you first, because transformation won’t happen in your life until you renew your mind, until your thoughts begin to change. Why is it so important that you learn how to manage your mind? Let me give you three reasons. Manage your mind, because your thoughts control your life. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts” (TEV). The power of your thoughts has tremendous ability to shape your life for good or for bad. For example, maybe you accept the thought someone told you when you were growing up, “You’re worthless. You don’t matter.” If you accepted that thought, even though it was wrong, it shaped y

God Is Waiting on You By Jerry Savelle

Jerry Savelle Ministries Daily Devotional Tuesday 16th August 2016 But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing   - Psalm 34:10 NKJV When you consistently seek God with your whole heart, it is impossible to lack in anything good thing. To diligently seek and obey God, yet lack in a good thing, means God lied. And it is impossible for God to lie. So, if you are lacking something in your life, it’s time to evaluate your heart. You may think you are waiting for God to give you good things, but in reality He is waiting for you to seek Him and give yourself to Him with a whole heart. God is eager and willing to give His children every good thing, but it is up to you to qualify for the promise. You have to position yourself to receive it. Psalm 31:19 NKJV declares, “How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.” The good things of God remain stored up until you pu

Speak Blessing Over Your Family By Joseph Prince

Daily Grace Inspirations Tuesday 16th August 2016 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield. - Psalm 5:12 What do you believe and say to your loved ones every day? For orthodox Jews, on Friday evenings in their homes, the father lays his hands on his children and pronounces God’s blessings over them. No wonder Jewish children grow up to be winners in the fight of life! They become some of the world’s greatest inventors, bankers, musicians and entertainers. Although a minority race, the Jews have produced the most number of Nobel Prize winners. I believe that it is because they bless their children in the same way the patriarchs of the Old Testament did. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob released God’s blessings upon their children by laying hands on them and speaking forth the blessings. (Genesis 27:27–29, 38–40; 48:14–16) In the New Testament, the apostles pronounced blessings over the churches they were preaching to. To the church

A Child’s Heart By Femi Monehin

Fresh Fire Daily Devotional Tuesday 16th August 2016 “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him” --   - Proverbs 22:15 NKJV You need to accept the fact that people will always talk. And like we said yesterday, it was not any different in Jesus’ time. So just make up your mind to be all that God has created you to be and do not entertain people’s opinions. Sometime last year, the story of the Baltimore mum made headlines. A young man was practically killed by the police in Baltimore and so a riot broke out. The youngsters took to the streets to protest and before long it turned into looting and all sorts of lawless behavior. A mother was watching the news on television and saw her son. So she went there and disciplined her son right there on the streets. Interestingly, the police chief came out and said he wishes all mothers would take control of their children. And I thought to myself but when the children call 911, you

Our Daily Bread: Bringing Light into Darkness

Our Daily Bread Daily Devotional Tuesday 16th August 2016 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  - Matthew 5:16 In 1989, Vaclav Havel was elevated from his position as a political prisoner to become the first elected president of Czechoslovakia. Years later at his funeral in Prague in 2011, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who herself was born in Prague, described him as one who had “brought the light to places of deep darkness.” What Havel’s introduction of light did in the political arena of Czechoslovakia (and later the Czech Republic), our Lord Jesus did for the whole world. He brought light into existence when He created light out of darkness at the dawn of time (John 1:2-3; cf. Gen 1:2-3). Then, with His birth, He brought light to the spiritual arena. Jesus is the life and light that darkness cannot overcome (John 1:5). John the Baptist came from the wilderness to bear w

A Firm Foundation By Kenneth Copeland

From Faith To Faith Daily Devotional Tuesday 16th August 2016 These things I command you, that ye love one another. - John 15:17 In Luke 6:47-48, Jesus said: “Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.” That’s probably a familiar scripture to you. But today I want you to do something new with it. I want you to put it together with what Jesus said in John 15:17: “These things I command you, that ye love one another.” Love. That one word sums up all Jesus said for us to do. If you’ll build your life on it, even the most violent storms of this world will be unable to shake you. It will make you solid in every area of your life. If you’ll build your family on love, you can win back those the devil has stol
