ANCHOR TEXT: “At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth” Mark 10:22. The measure of the control you have over your possession is shown by your willingness to release it. Apart from the fact that it is a divine law of blessing that cannot be compromised, God can place a demand on any of your possessions as it pleases Him – your house, car, money, cloth, time and so on. From today’s anchor scripture, it is clear that having satisfied other conditions of following Jesus, it was only the instruction to sell all that the rich man had and give to the poor that this man found so difficult to comply with. That was the reason Jesus concluded proverbially that it is very easy for a Carmel to pass through the eye of a needle than for the rich man to enter the kingdom of God. There are people that will never attain the highest level of affluence that God intended for them in their life time simply because of their inability to part with their earthly posses
