The challenge is that many people do not know how to respond in these levels of relationships. People want to pull out of community because maybe the people in their horizontal relationships are competing with them or vice versa and that is not healthy. Some people do not want to be responsible for other people in their downward vertical relationships. They do not care who goes to hell. They just want God to bless their own family. Treat everyone below you exactly how you would want them to treat you if you were below them. Who is below you today? Domestic staff? Treat your house help, your cook, your gateman the same way you want him or her to treat you if you were working for them. It will change your life. I know some people will struggle with this because they cannot imagine being the house help or gate man or cook. I know what I am asking you to do is a hard thing but it is the way to your freedom. The fool attempts to fool himself and won’t face facts”  - Proverbs 14:8  Many people in life start out well, but they end up progressing poorly because they don’t plan for the pitfalls. But the Bible says the wise man looks ahead and faces reality. As we make plans for our future, we all face pitfalls, such as cultural distractions, voices of doubt, tempting shortcuts, and discouraging delays. Just look at Noah: He had pitfalls after God told him to build the ark, but he overcame them  and you can, too. Now, this doesn’t mean God will give you a goal as audacious as building an ark, but I pray he’ll give you a big goal  even an audacious one for your next 10 years. And the reason is when one crab tries to climb up and escape, the other crabs pull it down. And no crab escapes or is ever able to climb up successfully because the others keep pulling it down. The first time he pulls them out, they do not even notice on time. It is like a bonfire; if you pull a log out from the fire, it will still have fire on it. That log, by itself, will still burn for a while. So you find such people being arrogant and full of themselves because they think they are doing well by themselves. Guess what?
