“The wise man saves for the future…” Proverbs 21:20 [LB]

The third habit for financial freedom is Save For The Future. It is called the Principle of Investment. I am using the word ‘save’ loosely here. I know financial gurus say you cannot save money because the inflation rate is higher than the interest rate. I understand that but you must at least accumulate some money before you can invest it. I know of people that actually buy land with their money without going to the bank. And they are able to achieve this because they have done constant saving over a period. They buy the land cash, sell it and make about a hundred or two hundred percent profit.

Savings is very powerful. Even the good old saving is very powerful, if the objective is saving to invest. Because no matter how much money you make, your expenses will always rise above your income if you allow it. But budgeting will help you because it will indicate what amount goes into savings and what amount goes into spending. “The wise man saves for the future…” Pr. 21:20a [LB]. The reason a lot of people do not save these days is because we want everything now.

Solomon says, “Money that comes easily disappears quickly, but money that is gathered little by little will grow.” Pr. 13:11 [NCV]. The problem is we overestimate how much we can achieve in the short term and we underestimate how much we can achieve in the long term. You want to save towards something and you give yourself a target period of five months. So we get discouraged because it is not going to take five months. You did not get to where you are in five months. So do not think you are going to get out in five months. I believe in miracles but I also believe in systems.

God can do a miracle but you must have a plan. For example, you think about putting fifty thousand aside. At the end of four months you have two hundred thousand but that does not excite you. But that was four years ago, by now you would have had over two million saved. Start saving now because four years will always come. God will keep you in health and alive, in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Lord, please give me the wisdom and strength to put something aside with every provision You bless me with, in Jesus Name.

His Channels

Rom.1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God [with emphasis]. So far we have examined three channels God uses to speak to us. If you are not reading your Bible consistently, if you are not listening to messages over and over again, and if you are not accountable to other believers, you do not have believers that are speaking into your life, you have already missed three main channels God speaks through. Channel #4: God speaks to us through His Creation. Ps.19:1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world [with emphasis]. God’s cre...

THEME: You Can Create Whatever You Desire John 16:21-27 The instrument with which you exercise dominion over creation is your mouth. You can create whatsoever you desire by speaking that thing into existence.Whatever you say begins to exist in the spiritual form.Jesus said in John 6:63,"The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life". In like manner, you create whatever you say and the things begin to exist in the spiritual form. What you create through words also have life and they continue to live until they find physical expression.  This is exactly what happens when you pray. The things you declare in prayer come alive and begin to exist in their spiritual form. They remain in that spiritual form until they are converted to their tangible equivalent through work. Jesus said,"until now you have asked nothing in My name.Ask,and you will receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24). Don't make the mistake of relaxing after you have pray...

THEME: RETREAT TO REFRESH READ: Matt. 11:25-30 When some musicians want to release great songs, they retreat to secluded places where they can reflect, meditate and create. Some choose places overlooking the vast oceans, some choose where there are waterfalls, and some choose places with thick forestations.  As they observe the beauty of nature, the swift moves and songs of the soaring birds, the colourful flowering vegetations, the serene beaches and the unending waves of the nearby waters, they capture inspiration that helps them develop the hit songs they have been longing for. I met one of the world’s renowned musicians in Atlanta, USA a few years ago where journalist surrounded him and were asking what he had come to do and why his beards had grown so much. He said that his last album did not perform well enough and he was incubating another one he wanted to release that would perform better. He said that he needed to pull away from the Noise of New York and California ...
