Everybody gets discouraged at one time or the other; it is normal. Discouragement therefore becomes abnormal when you dwell on it and refuses to cheer up and move on with life. You must not give in to fear and trouble for the battle is not yours but God’s. If you understand this simple truth, you will never be afraid or give up easily come what may. If you imbibe this mentality, you won’t write yourself up.

Sometimes ago, a local football match was being played in a school playing ground. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was. With a proud smile, he replied, ‘they are leading us 3-0!!!’ I was marveled because he did not look discouraged and I asked why he was not discouraged. ‘Discouraged? The boy asked with a puzzled look. Why should I be when the referee has not blown the final whistle? Before the end of the match, things can still turn around in my team’s favour’. What a faith? As I got back home, his question became my subject of thoughts.

Daily Grace Inspirations Thursday 11th August 2016 …“What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” - John 6:28–29 When I was a young Christian, I attended a seminar on what we must do to “work the works of God”. I was told that we had to pray more, fast more, know our enemy and so on. I came away from the seminar confused. Then one day, I found the same question in the Bible. But the answer was very different!
