His Channels

Rom.1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God [with emphasis].

So far we have examined three channels God uses to speak to us. If you are not reading your Bible consistently, if you are not listening to messages over and over again, and if you are not accountable to other believers, you do not have believers that are speaking into your life, you have already missed three main channels God speaks through.

Channel #4: God speaks to us through His Creation. Ps.19:1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world [with emphasis].

God’s creation is speaking; are you listening? Solomon says in Prov.24:30 “I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; 31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; Its surface was covered with nettles; Its stone wall was broken down. 32 When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction [with emphasis]. Note that Solomon did not just walk past the vineyard and the instruction jumped at him. He did four things: (1) Saw it (2) Considered it well (3) Looked on it (4) then received instruction. Many times, we zoom past God’s creation. We do not stop to see, or stop to consider well, or stop to look on, or even stop to receive instruction. Things are speaking to you but you are moving too fast to listen.

For some people reading this today, it is your house that is speaking. The walls are cracking but you are not listening. For some, it is their desk at the office. If your desk is cluttered, it is telling you something about your mind because your table is a reflection of your mind. Do you know that? Check your table at the office; if it is clean and ordered or if it is scattered, so is your mind. All of God’s creation speaks to us even though mostly without making any sound. Pay attention; God is speaking and He is speaking through His creation.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me slow down, consider things, look carefully and receive the instructions You are giving me though creation, in Jesus Name.
