ANCHOR TEXT: “What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me” Job 3:25.
In a survey of high-tech employees, Bagozzi, in year 2000 observed that those who spend a lot of time worrying about their jobs are 17 percent less productive than workers who ‘seldom’ or ‘never’ worry about their job. This observation is not only applicable to jobs; it is also applicable to other areas of life; as well as all categories of human being. Happenings in our world are strong enough to intimidate and precipitate doubt; I mean doubt of the possibility of overcoming; doubt of the power of God to help us etc. One thing is that wherever there is doubt there will be fear. Worse still, whatever makes you doubt will make you afraid, and vice versa. Thus, for anything you are afraid of, chances are it will happen.
Take for instance, if you are afraid of sickness just for no reason, such sickness will eventually come upon you. If you are afraid that you will fail an examination, chances, are you will fail that examination. And if you are afraid of going into a relationship or marriage, chances are you will not enjoy that marriage, and so on. This is exactly what happened to Job who is the main character in today’s message. According to him all that he feared came upon him! God has not given you the sprint of fear, but of power and of sound mind. So, where comes the fear?
QUOTE OF THE DAY:“WORRYING ABOUT A THING INCREASES THE CHANCE THAT IT WILL GO WRONG”
