Join forces with God

ANCHOR TEXT: “Now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties” 1 Kings 3:7.
Unless you are willing to give up your struggles and turn them over to God, you will always make poor results of them. Unless you are ready to cooperate and join forces with God you will always feel the void of inadequacy. You are just not strong, or wise enough to confront life challenges all alone. One with God is truly the majority. Detach yourself from God and you will be helplessly and hopelessly lost in the jungle of life.

Why must you join forces with God? First, you don’t know enough. Second, you are facing gigantic forces over which you have no control and against which you have no weapon.

Daily Grace Inspirations Thursday 11th August 2016 …“What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” - John 6:28–29 When I was a young Christian, I attended a seminar on what we must do to “work the works of God”. I was told that we had to pray more, fast more, know our enemy and so on. I came away from the seminar confused. Then one day, I found the same question in the Bible. But the answer was very different! In the Gospel of John, we find Jesus being asked the same question by the multitude who had been awed by His miracles—“What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” The people had seen Jesus healing the sick, and feeding 5,000 men with only five loaves and two fish.
