mark -16-16

Theme: Eternal Damnation

Memorise:
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but
he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

Read: Mark 16:15-18
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Message
Eternal damnation is the worst thing that can happen to anyone, it is damnation for a lifetime here on earth and in eternity. Our Lord Jesus Christ said:
“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
Luke 12:4-5

Jesus Christ in the above passage is taking about eternal damnation for sinners and the ungodly. Many people choose eternal damnation indirectly by escaping the cost that godly living poses to them. In the midst of trials and tribulations, some children of God deny their Lord. Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:25-34 said we should not be anxious for what to eat or drink because our Father in heaven knows we will need them and so will provide them for us. We should not bow to the enticement of the devil. Rather, we should heed the Words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, even if this exposes us to some challenges that are, as a matter of fact, temporary. This is the reason Jesus admonished His disciples saying:
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

To escape eternal damnation, therefore, we must accept the gospel of Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. It is unfortunate that there are many people in the Church today who do not believe the gospel. Some see the gospel as outdated; they believe that Christ came to redeem man from eternal damnation but they refused to keep to the terms and conditions of salvation. According to the text of our reading for today, accepting the gospel entails accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ over our lives. We cannot do what pleases us anymore; we cannot afford to follow the whims and caprices of the world anymore (1st John 2:15-17). Moreover, we must learn His ways and imbibe His ideals (Matthew 11:28-30). Failure to keep to these principles of Christian living makes our profession of Christianity a mere exercise. Jesus Christ asked His audience:
“And why call ye me, Lord Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
Luke 6:46
May the Lord give us hearing ears and obedient hearts to do according to His perfect will.

Prayer Point :
Father, drench me with new anointing, and remove every hindrance to its flow in my life in Jesus’ name.

Dominion Mandate Daily Devotional Thursday,March 3

THEME: You Can Create Whatever You Desire John 16:21-27 The instrument with which you exercise dominion over creation is your mouth. You can create whatsoever you desire by speaking that thing into existence.Whatever you say begins to exist in the spiritual form.Jesus said in John 6:63,"The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life". In like manner, you create whatever you say and the things begin to exist in the spiritual form. What you create through words also have life and they continue to live until they find physical expression.  This is exactly what happens when you pray. The things you declare in prayer come alive and begin to exist in their spiritual form. They remain in that spiritual form until they are converted to their tangible equivalent through work. Jesus said,"until now you have asked nothing in My name.Ask,and you will receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24). Don't make the mistake of relaxing after you have pray...

A Partaker Of Other People's Sins? - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens Daily Devotional Friday July 15th 2016 Memory Verse: Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. - 1 Timothy 5:22 Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 18:28-34 28. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.  29. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.  30. Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.  31. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.  32.For it came to pass, that, whe...

We Fail To Achieve Greatness Because We Fear Success By John Hagee

John Hagee Daily Devotional Thursday 11th August 2016  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  - One reason we do not reach excellence is because of our fear of failure.  Failure is a better teacher than success.  Every great success story has its element of failure.  You have not failed until you quit; only then have you failed.  After Thomas Edison finished his 700th experiment trying to develop the electric light his assistant said, “We have failed.”  Edison replied, “No.   We have found 700 ways that will not work.  Do not call these 700 experiments mistakes; call them our education.  Now let’s keep going until we find the answer.”  Are you afraid of failure?  Then you’ll never succeed.  You’ll never stub your toe standing still.  Remember the turtle, he never gets anywhere until he sticks his neck out.  You can’t succeed if you’re not willing to risk failure. Have you failed? Get up. ...
