Keep Taking Steps

ANCHOR TEXT: “Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’-the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die.

So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die” 2 Kings 7:3-4.

Everything stands still for the person that stands still. Your expectation will not come and meet you where you are. You will have to take practical steps towards it. Having written down your desires, having prayed and planned, things may still remain as they are until steps are taken.

Taking steps towards one’s desire gets God committed. It brightens the chances that you will accomplish it; and it demystifies the problem. It may be tough and rough; however, it is only by taking steps that the toughness can be reduced. There was an intimidating Red Sea in front of the children of Israel and Pharaoh’s armed troop was behind them, yet God said they should move forward. Why did God say that? He knew that it was only by advancing fearlessly towards the Red Sea that His desire for them to leave the land of Egypt for the promise land could be realized.
