Think & Thank

 “Seven times every day I praise You because of Your right rulings. Those who love Your law have an abundance of peace, and nothing along their paths can cause them to stumble” Ps. 119:164-165 [Voice]

God’s instruction for us in this season is Re-Tune. We have seen some of the things that detune us. And we have learnt that the desired frequency, the pitch perfect tune is joy. This joy comes with righteousness and peace. So how do those of us that are out of tune re-tune? And how do those of us that have never been tuned get in-tune? Three things;

The first thing is Gratitude. Find something to be grateful for. As the days in the year roll by very quickly, take some time out to just reflect. I know the enemy will try to get you to be ungrateful by putting in front of you the things that have and have not happened to you. The enemy is going to try to stir your focus to problems and the area you are struggling in. Know before hand that it is all in an attempt to detune you. Instead, think about what God has done and praise God. You have a roof over your head [I hope]. At least you have clothes on your back. Your soul gets tuned when it is filled with gratitude. Gratitude helps us find our desired frequency and our proper pitch.

The second thing is Solitude. Every new day, find a place of solitude. Where it will be only you and God. Just create time to be alone with God. Find time! Even Jesus needed time to be alone with God to retune. “And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there” Matt.14:23 [emphasis added]. Jesus had time to be alone with God and He is God. You need time to be alone with God. God wants to talk to you. God wants to realign you. God wants to correct your course. God wants to set your days in order this year.

Jesus needed time alone to pray, to meditate and to reflect. Many times we do not learn because we do not reflect. I read somewhere that one-day when Bill Gates was still young, his mother was looking for him all over the house and finally found him in a closet all by himself. She was alarmed and asked him what he was doing in the closet all by himself. And he replied, “I am thinking, don’t you think”? The point is, you need to cut out time to be alone with God; schedule it if you have to.

Prayer [song]: When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me, my very soul shall shout, Halleluiah! Praise God for saving me. Amen!

GFH.

THEME: You Can Create Whatever You Desire John 16:21-27 The instrument with which you exercise dominion over creation is your mouth.You can create whatsoever you desire by speaking that thing into existence.Whatever you say begins to exist in the spiritual form.Jesus said in John 6:63,"The words that I speak unto you,they are spirit,and they are life". In like manner,you create whatever you say and the things begin to exist in the spiritual form.What you create through words also have life and they continue to live until they find physical expression.  This is exactly what happens when you pray.The things you declare in prayer come alive and begin to exist in their spiritual form.They remain in that spiritual form until they are converted to their tangible equivalent through work. Jesus said,"until now you have asked nothing in My name.Ask,and you will receive,that your joy may be full" (John 16:24). Don't make the mistake of relaxing after you have pray...

You Must Forgive Yourself Hebrews 12:1-11 You have heard quite a lot about forgiving those that have offended you – and that you must do. It happens often that the person you must really forgive is yourself. You may have committed an offence or a sin and your conscience has condemned you, just as the Holy Spirit has chastised you. You may also have repented of this sin, confessed it to God and resolved not to go back that way. But you discover that the heaviness, clouded vision, and the erosion of confidence occasioned by the sin you committed continue to weigh you down. At such moments, you need to make another type of confession to God in order to regain your liberty from the weight that holds you down. You have to confess your unbelief in His word that says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). When you have genuinely repented of a sin and confessed it to God; and you have pleaded ...

A Partaker Of Other People's Sins? - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Open Heavens Daily Devotional Friday July 15th 2016 Memory Verse: Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. - 1 Timothy 5:22 Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 18:28-34 28. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.  29. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.  30. Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.  31. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.  32.For it came to pass, that, whe...
