Theme: Stop Limiting Yourself
Mark 9:14-24
Quite often it happens that the greatest enemy to your progress in life is the person living under your skin. Yes, you can be the biggest obstacle to your own progress through the things you think, the things you believe and the things you say. One of the most popular sayings attributed to Henry Ford is “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are right.” He says in other words, that the man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can’t are both right.
The counsel given by Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the U.S. is: “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”
It is indescribable what happens at that point that you accept the reality that a task that once seemed impossible can indeed be accomplished. One explanation to what happens at such a moment is this: At that point you come into agreement with God’s own declaration that nothing is too hard for Him to do (Jer. 32:17). This makes you a vessel God can use. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).
Sir Winston Churchill described a pessimist as one who sees the difficulty in every opportunity; while an optimist, he says, is one who sees the opportunity in every difficulty. Don’t be a pessimist. Choose instead to be an optimist.
Most of the advancements made by humanity are attributed to individuals who were driven out of their comfort zones by some form of adversity. When therefore you are confronted with the many challenges that are bound to come your way in the course of your earth journey, do not begin to wish them away or dodge them. Instead, confront them and uncover the opportunities that are coming your way in disguise.
Pray for renewal of your mind as you study and pray.
CONFESSION:
Every challenge presents me an opportunity, not to go down but to climb higher. I move higher every day.
