It’s no secret.” But when you understand what I mean, it could be a revelation to you. You see, the Bible is not just a textbook, a storybook or a history book. It’s a handbook for living. It’s the wisdom of Almighty God written down so that you can apply it to your everyday circumstances. God says that wisdom is the “principal thing.” Principal means “first in importance.” That means the Word of God needs to occupy the place of highest importance in all of your activities. When IBM came, Bill Gates simply said he would do it right away. How is that important, you may ask? It is important because at that time, he did not have an operating system or the time to start writing an operating system. Writing an operating system is huge, even now with all the tools available. A lot of people would have been afraid and would have declined with apologies. But not Bill Gates, he accepted the opening. The servant said, “I was afraid…” Fear is a major challenge for a lot of us. A lot of people would have gone very far in life but for fear. They are afraid to take a step or to exploit a situation. God will break the back of that fear in Jesus Name. But if you further examine what this same servant said, this servant that did not take full advantage and was not productive, he said, “Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate”. In other words, he was saying his master is an exploitative person. The master said, “you know I operate the Principle of Exploitation, at least you should have put my money in the bank.” God is saying to you and I - I expect you to be exploitative. Now when you think of hostility, you may think of the type of anger you feel when something serious happens. But according to the experts, that kind of thing isn’t what causes the worst problems. It’s the little things: when the dry cleaners ruin your favorite outfit, for example. Or when the cafeteria lady puts gravy on your mashed potatoes after you’ve specifically told her not to. Someone walks up to me and reels out a list of judgments for another person that they insist I must execute. I simply smile at such people and never really say anything. And in my mind I am thinking, I know where this same judgmental person came from. So how can it be him or her that is pulling out the judgmental stick on someone else? But I do not say anything - I just smile. Many times, we write off people that God has tagged as work in progress. Sometimes we even want to put a full stop where God is saying, work to be continued. We want to dot the I’s and cross the T’s. Note this, if you wait to dot all the “I’s” and cross all the “T’s”, by the time you are ready, it will be too late. In fact someone said relating to software programming, “If you are proud of your first release, you released it too late”. The first page release of some of these social media sites was ugly but they shipped anyway. It is called incremental releases. I am a huge supporter of rapid application development, which is, release the code quickly so that users engage it and give you feedback. Instead of staying in a cocoon and thinking you have all the solutions. Then by the time you release the solution it does not even fit the target market. God does incremental releases.
