THE EMPTY GRAVE IS THE PROOF THAT HE IS RISEN

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay” Matthew 28:6. Halleluyah! He is risen! Today is Easter Sunday, the day that Jesus rose from the dead. The third day after His death is not just a fact of history, it is a message from God to man. Jesus rose the third day, contrary to the expectation of the Jews, soldiers and all His enemies. He left an empty tomb behind and went into an open heaven. God set natural laws aside and superimpose His will on the tomb of Jesus Christ. So, no matter what the natural or scientific law has confirmed in your life contrary to the purpose of God, it shall be turned around for your good. Something great can come out of your ordinary situation. The lifeless body of Jesus Christ was laid in a tomb. They rolled a huge stone to cover it up, put the King’s seal to seal it up and set soldiers to watch it 24 hours. But the stone and the soldiers could not hinder Jesus from resurrecting and coming out of the grave. Thi...

The Power

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 Christians are so powerful, not in ourselves but in the Spirit that lives in us. “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” Phil.3:10. Paul wrote the Book of Romans and Paul said that Spirit [the Resurrection Power] lives in you. This same Paul is saying, that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. This suggests that it is something you can grow and mature into. It is something that you can acquire as it were. While it is in you, it has to be deployed. Imagine a power cable that is covered with rubber on the outside. No matter how potent the power is, because the cable is insulated, I can play with it and the power would deliver nothing. Right? But can I try to hold it whe...

Theme: Beware of the tripartite sins Memorize: Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:15 1st John 2:15-17 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. MESSAGE: Christians are not to attach themselves to this world. When you get consumed with the affairs of this life you are distracted from keeping your mind on the things of God. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Romans 12:2 Satan and his agents are trying to deceive people, to see the things of ...

Guarantee

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom. 8:11 “…Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” Luke 24:5. Not Mary, not Peter, not even John the beloved, nobody gave Jesus a chance. They did not believe that He would be raised from the dead. However, the beauty of this is, God does not need Peter’s permission to raise Jesus from the dead. God does not need Mary’s faith to raise Jesus form the dead. God does not need the willingness of the Pharisees to raise Jesus from the dead. What this means to you and I is that your resurrection does not depend on whether people like you or not. What God has said, He will do! What guarantees that the pain of Friday, that goes to the gloom of Saturday, will change to the celebration of Sunday? What guarantees that the pressure of Friday, that goes to...

Bruised For Our Transgressions

“LOVE GREW WHERE HIS BLOOD FELL” ANCHOR TEXT: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” Isaiah 53:5. Welcome to another new day. Today is good Friday, the day that is set aside all over the world for the commemoration of the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the day the gap between God and mankind, caused by sin was bridged. What a glorious day. Being betrayed by one of His closest subordinates, He was arrested on mount olive, and was led into the courtyard for trial. After the release of Barabbas (a notorious armed robber) in His place, though guiltless when tried according to the Jewish law and customs, Pontius Pilate sentenced Jesus to death after He had been mercilessly flogged so as to satisfy the yearning of the Jews. Jesus was deserted by all His officials, friends and even some disciples, and was led out of Jerusalem by Jewish soldiers to ...

Theme: The Advocate with the father Memorise: My little children, these things write I unto you that ye sin not, And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1 Read: Hebrew 12:22-26 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. Message At the point...

Risen!

“The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” Luke 24:5 “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” This is such an amazing statement. These women meant well; they did not mean to insult Jesus. I have news for you today. Mark today’s date in your diary. There are well meaning people that will come and look for you in the grave but they will discover that the tomb is empty. They will discover that God has resurrected you from the place they kept you. And if God will open their eyes to see, the angels will say to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” They are so sure that they will find you at the vendor’s stand flipping through free newspapers searching for job applications. Guess what? The next time they check, you will not be there anymore because you are gainfully employed. They can predict that you will be coming for your m...
