Abide in Me

Believing that Messiah must abide in our hearts, and not understanding that WE are the ones who must abide in HIM first. (Ie: Ask Jesus into your heart, to abide in you to be saved. Did you know this concept is not even in the Bible.) Don't misunderstand, there is nothing wrong with asking Jesus Christ to come  into our lives... we should do that. But we are a selfish people and need to understand that we must be the ones who seek Him. Read this scripture with this understanding. He is not in us until we are first in Him. John 15:2-11 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean BECAUSE OF THE WORD which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the br...

That The Eyes of Our Understanding May Be Enlightened

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (1st Timothy 3:16)The way many Christians think is when a demand is made in their life, when the support structure is removed from their lives, they take is as God’s unfaithfulness. Taking off the structure actually frees you. When it is removed then things actually start happen. There can be no vacuum in your life; if you lose your support structure, it is going to be replaced by something else. As the scripture says ‘which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory (1st Corint 2:8); you cannot die in the process. God wants to bring out something in you. That is why Jesus said ‘blessed are those that hunger…’ As we all know one of the laws in science states ‘an object continues in the state or position of rest ...

Relieve Each Others Burdens

Luke 19:23 "Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?" The Greek word for "usury" means primarily "a bringing forth, birth, or offsprings." It is used metaphorically for the profit received by a lender. The Law of Moses attempted to protect both borrower and lender. In Israel, borrowing and lending was not for big, commercial enterprises but rather to help the poor and needy who lacked everyday necessities. In lending, the lender had the opportunity to help the poor in need. It was an act of love in which the lender actually lifted a burden by helping his fellow Israelite through a crisis, but was forbidden to charge usury. To relieve the burden of the poor, debts were released every seven years and property restored during the year of Jubilee. In the New Testament, the practice of lending money at interest seemed to be accepted as normal business procedure. Although Jesus n...

Open Heavens: When He Beckons To You

Memorise: In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37 Read: Exodus 3:3-4 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. Message When a king beckons to you, it means you have caught his attention. In Esther 5:1-3, when King Ahasuerus saw Esther standing in the inner courts of the palace, he immediately raised his sceptre towards her. By so doing, he was inviting her to come nearer. When God beckons to you, you can be assured that things are definitely taking a new turn from that moment. This was the experience of Moses. For 40 years, Moses was at the back side of the desert looking after his father-in- law's sheep; but one day, this well-read and once very promising heir to the t...

Are you Faithful?

Read: Nehemiah 13:10-14 I put Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and a Levite named Pedaiah in charge of the storerooms and made Hanan son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah, their assistant, because these men were considered trustworthy  (Nehemiah l3:13a). Notice how representative this group is that he chooses. There is a priest, a scribe, a Levite, and a layman. All four represent various aspects of the life of Israel and share one great quality. He tells us, these men were considered trustworthy (Nehemiah 13:13b). They were faithful men. I have discovered that today faithfulness is a quality not highly esteemed, although we often pay lip service to it. It is disheartening to me at times to see how few people take seriously the responsibility to carry through faithfully what they have undertaken. Faithfulness is the quality that God admires. Paul says in 1 Corinthians of those who minister in the church: Now it is required that those who have been given a trust mus...

Be Faithful With a Little

Luke 19:12-13 "He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come." LUKE 19:11-27 The main purpose of this parable is to show that there would be a long period when Jesus would go away before returning to fulfill the prophecy about a physical kingdom on earth. The nobleman's servants were called to give an account for what they had done with their lord's money that was delivered unto them. The servants were commanded to "occupy till I come." These servants represent the followers of Jesus. However, being a follower of Jesus is more than simply not rejecting Him. It is an active commitment to serve Him. One of the ten servants had served himself and not His master. He did nothing with what his lord had given him. This wicked servant was stripped of what he had and it was given to the servant ...

Open Heavens: Hes Still Sends Birds

Memorise: And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. 1 Kings 17:4 Read: 1 Kings 17:2-6 2 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. 5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. Message Our God is awesome, and His ways are beyond finding out. Nobody can box God into a pattern or regimen. He can use anything He chooses to achieve His purpose on earth. God uses those who are lowly placed, and He also uses the rich. Luke 8:1-3 tells of some wealthy women who ministered to Jesus from their resources. Mary Magda...
