WHATEVER YOU FAIL TO CONTROL WILL CONTROL YOU

THEME: CALL YOURSELF TO ORDER ANCHOR TEXT: “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13. ‘I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is the victory over self…’ (Aristotle). Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. There are people who cannot control their weight, appetite, temper, emotions, sleep etc and they blame it on the devil. The devil is not always the cause of all your problems. Was the devil the cause of your uncontrolled appetite for food or sex? Was the devil the cause of your obesity, disobedience and feelings? The devil is not! For example, concerning food, you have the power to make up your mind and say things like, ‘I will begin a diet plan’ concerning your spouse, you have the power to say things like; ‘I will never beat or disgrace my wife’ or ‘I will never be disrespectful to my husband again’. These are acts from your God-given powerful human will. In lin...

THEME : BLESSINGS OF KNOWING THE TRUE GOD MEMORISE : And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. DANIEL 11 : 32. READ : 1 KINGS 18 : 21 - 24 :  21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said...

Why Should We Run from Sexual Sin?

The proper place for sex is between a husband and wife. Outside of that relationship, sex is destructive to you and to others, just like an out of control fire. “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 A fire provides warmth, light and comfort. But if a fire gets out of control, it can destroy your home, your possessions and even your life. Sex is a lot like that. The proper place for sex is between a husband and wife. Outside of that relationship, sex is destructive to you and to others, just like an out of control fire. Here are 3 important reasons to avoid sexual sin. 1. Sex Affects Our Body, Mind and Spirit God created us with a body, a mind and a spirit....

IF THERE IS ASSURANCE OF JOY IN THE MORNING, THERE IS NO NEED TO CRY IN THE NIGHT”

THEME: THAT CHALLENGE WILL SOON EXPIRE ANCHOR TEXT: “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” Psalms 30:5. Two young Americans were on a recreation adventure in Iraq in 2009. Their adventure took them to the Iraqi-Iranian border. They were held by Iranian security forces with allegations of entering into Iranian territory illegally and were accused of being American spies. The young men pleaded their innocence. They said where they were arrested was an unmarked portion of the Iraqi-Iranian border and they did not know whether they actually strayed into Iran. For over 2 years, they were kept in near solitary confinement in a 21/2 by 4 metres cell, being led blind-folded many times into their cell room. Finally, in September 2011, after over 2 years in confinement, they were set free after a million dollar bail bond was brokered by the Oman Diplomatic authorities. Freedom eventually came a...

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20 2016

THEME : BEWARE OF DECEIVERS II MEMORISE : But watch thou in all things, endure affitions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 TIMOTHY 4 : 5. READ : ROMANS 16 : 17 - 20 : 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Message: The Bible repeatedly warns children of God to beware of deceivers in the form of false teachers and prophets, because their operations are usually so smooth that their activities could be ver...

Making Relations Special!

Sonia King wrote: When I was a kid, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made dinner after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all dad did was reached for his biscuit, smile at my Mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite! When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my Mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I’ll never forget what he said: “Honey, I love burned biscuits.” Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And bes...

TOPIC : BEATEN BUT NOT DEFEATED (2)  TEXT : James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  1Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Using the story of Joseph in portipha's house as an illustration. Despite the fact that his Master's wife succeed in convincing the master that Joseph tried sleeping with her (BEATEN) ; Joseph refused to be DEFEATED : even in the prison he continue living Holy and righteous life. Many atimes because you, as a lady, fall a victim to a man who is after your body (BEATEN), you then decide sleeping around with every available guy (DEFEATED) ; Satan set the trap and you choose to fall for it? Being beaten is temporal while being defeated is permanent. Satan can vex but he cannot defeat believer in christ. Do not allow devil or some unpleasant circumstances to defeat you by given in to te...
